Chat

You can use the AI mechanic without an account. What you type is sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. We don't ask for your name, and we don't attach your conversation to an identity. We keep a daily count of how many conversations start, with no content attached, so we can measure usage.

To find and fix wrong answers, we keep the text of conversations, the car you selected, and any 👍 or 👎 you give, for 30 days, then delete them automatically. They're stored under a random conversation ID, never with your IP address or any account. To limit abuse, we count messages per visitor using a one-way code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day and can't be turned back into either. Your selected car and past chats are also saved in your own browser so you don't have to re-enter them; you can clear them any time.

Shop quote requests

If you choose to request a quote, we store the ZIP code and the email or phone number you enter, plus a short summary of the problem from your chat, so a local shop can quote it. We only share that with a shop when one is available in your area, and only after you've asked for it by checking the consent box. You can ask us to delete your request at any time.

What we don't collect

We don't store your IP address with a quote request, and we don't sell your information.

Analytics
