You're talking with an AI
Mechronic's AI mechanic writes its answers automatically with artificial intelligence, and they can contain errors or inaccuracies. It gives general information about car problems, trouble codes, typical repair costs and nearby shops. It can't see, hear or test your car, so it doesn't replace an inspection or repair advice from a mechanic who can.
Safety comes first
If the brakes feel wrong, the steering is hard or loose, you see smoke, you smell fuel, a warning light is flashing or the car is overheating: stop driving and get help. Don't rely on any online answer, including ours, when your safety is at risk.
Prices are estimates
Repair costs are typical ranges for US independent shops. Your quote depends on the car, the region and the shop, and can differ.
What you send us
Your messages and anything you add (photos, sound recordings, voice calls, details about your car) are processed by Mechronic and our AI providers to answer your request. Please don't include personal information that isn't needed, such as your full name, address or plate number. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy; the rules for using Mechronic are in our Terms of Service.
